The democrats are mounting a pathetic defense of the off shore oil drilling ban. While their fumbled avoidance to reach some kind of compromise with the republicans will eventually prove effective, their lack of an eloquent and reasonable explanation of their position puts them in a hole and leaves them vulnerable to constant criticism. Apparently they want Americans to change their lifestyle. We need someone to deliver a speech equivalent to Obama's initial Reverend Wright response. I suppose that could come in a few a months.
